Artist statement

 "My goal is to create work that people can explore the landscapes and feelings that live within us all, blending scenes with portraits in small detailed strokes of oil paint to create a bold piece of art that catches your eye and draws you in again and again. Each portrait becomes a window into an inner world, making the art not just a stand alone portrait of an individual but representing the layers of experience, memories and environments that shape who we are. I like inviting the viewers to see beyond the surface of people and into the structures of thought and emotion."

Who is Zoe Marie ?

ZOE MARIE. b. 2003

Zoe Marie creates unique artwork inspired by double exposure photography, blending portraits with landscapes and matter. Her unique approach to oil painting is hoping to gain worldwide recognition.

Zoe has been painting since the age of twelve; she entered high school and her art teacher inspired her to try new things and create and it became her safe space to explore her creativity. The fixation to find her niche began and it was something she struggled with for years. Then in her final year of study, she created her first painting in this unique style in an exam, it was a self portrait blended with a photo taken by Zoe on her visit to Pompeii in Italy. This piece ignited her love for creating this style and allowed her to reflect on the places she had been and ultimately that changed her way of thinking.
